National Historic Landmark - Gadsby's Tavern

Comprising two adjoining tavern buildings, the smaller of which dates from 1752, this is one of the best known 18th century inn's in the country. George Washington recruited men here in 1754 for the French and Indian War, and the first celebration of the Federal Constitution took place here on June 28, 1788.
