General Friedrich Von Steuben, Headquarters

From February to June 1778, this building served as quarters for Baron Friedrich Wilhelm Ludolf Gerhard Augustin von Steuben, Prussian staff officer and aide-de-camp to Frederick the Great.

General von Steuben served as inspector general and drillmaster of the Continental Army in 1778; while here, he helped to mold it into a viable military force.

Since 1976, this building has been included in Valley Forge National Historical Park.
