National Historic Landmark- Governor Henry Lippitt House

Constructed about 1862-65, this three story brick-faced structure is a beautifully preserved Italian Villa built for Henry Lippitt, Governor of Rhode Island in 1875-76.

Architect/builder Henry Childs provided lavish and colorful decorations inside the house that are among the best of their kind in the country.
