National Historic Landmark - Grand Canyon Power House

A masterpiece of "trompe l'oeil," the elements of the rugged chalet design of this industrial building (1926) are over-scaled to fool the observer into believing the structure is half its true size. All of the original diesel equipment that provided power to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon remains in the building.
