National Historic Landmark -Hayes Plantation
This imposing plantation house, dating from 1814-1817 and designed by William Nichols, is one of the South's most accomplished examples of a five-part Palladian villa.
The frame building's central block is connected to dependencies connected by curved hyphens.
A large belvedere above the central block provides expansive views across Edenton Bay.
