National Historic Landmark - Joseph Henry House

This was the home of Joseph Henry (1797-1878), who did important research in the field of electromagnetism and served as the first Secretary of the Smithsonian Institution (1846-78) and President of the National Academy of Sciences (1868-78).

Henry lived in this two-story brick house while he taught (1832-46) at what became Princeton University.
