National Historic Landmark- Kingscote
Kingscote is one of the first of Newport's summer cottages, and a predecessor of those mansions which were built later and would characterize America's age of luxury and industrial wealth.
The house was at the center of Newport's social activity. Its unusual design was highly original and was pivotal in establishing the career of Richard Upjohn of New York.
