National Historic Landmark-Miles Brewton House

National Historic Landmark-Miles Brewton House

Built between 1765 and 1769, this two story house of almost square design is an excellent example of a Charleston double house with a highly ornamented interior and exterior.

During the Revolutionary War it was occupied by British General Clinton, and in the last days of the Civil War it was used by Union officers.
