National Historic Landmark - New York State Capitol
National Historic Landmark - New York State Capitol
Erected between 1867 and 1899, this building marked a period of general prosperity and confidence in Post-Civil War New York.
Begun in the Second Empire style, it was completed in the French Renaissance style and was one of the most lavish structures built in 19th century America.
This building, along with Philadelphia's City Hall, was one of the last great monumental structures in this country built entirely of masonry.
