National Historic Landmark - Sherman Birthplace
This is the birthplace of Senior Republican Senator John Sherman (1823-1900), who wrote the Sherman Anti-Trust Act (1890), the first attempt by the Federal Government to regulate industry.
He also served in the U.S. House and as Secretary of State.
His older brother, William Tecumseh Sherman, Union Army General, was also born here.
