National Historic Landmark - St. Paul's Cathedral (Buffalo)
National Historic Landmark - St. Paul's Cathedral (Buffalo)
Constructed between 1849 and 1851, St. Paul's Cathedral is the premier church in Western New York.
Designed by Richard Upjohn, the leading American Gothic Revival architect of the 19th century, St. Paul's is an excellent example of the kind of church advocated by the Cambridge Camden Society, founded in England for the advancement of Medieval art and architecture.
The church is built of local red sandstone set in a random ashlar pattern.
