National Historic Landmark -The Voorlezer's House
This house was constructed by the early Dutch settlers before 1696 to serve as a church, a school, and the residence of the Voorlezer, the layman chosen to assist the Pastor in the church services and keep the church records.
In addition to his religious duties, he often conducted school, in which elementary reading, writing, arithmetic, and religious catechism were taught.
