National Historic Landmark - Thomas Nast Home

From 1873 to 1902, Villa Fontana was the home of Thomas Nast (1840-1902), German-born editorial cartoonist.

Nast is best remembered for his devastating and searing cartoons directed against the Tweed Ring of New York City, the corrupt politicians who had looted the city of millions after the Civil War.
