National Historical Landmark-USS BECUNA Submarine

An example of the standard Fleet type BALAO class submarines which could operate at a test depth of 400 feet, BECUNA was commissioned in 1944 and served in World War II as the Submarine Flagship of the Pacific Fleet under the command of General Douglas MacArthur.

She is credited with sinking 3888 tons of Japanese shipping and received four battle stars for her World War II service.
