National Historic Landmark - Will Marion Cook House
This was the home (1918-1944) of the early 20th-century African-American composer, songwriter and orchestra conductor whom Duke Ellington called -The master of all masters of our people-.
Although he was classically trained, Cook turned his attention to -ragtime- and helped spread the gospel of black-inspired music through his compositions and musical comedies.
