Neil Avenue Gate

Construction of these brick columns was authorized by the Board of Trustees of the University on November 6, 1915. The columns later supported iron gates bearing the University seal, which were used to close this south entrance to the campus. Matching gates were constructed at the north entrance to the campus, on Neil Avenue at what is now Woody Hayes Drive. Of those original north and south gateways, only these two columns survive.

Marker is at the intersection of Neil Avenue and West 11th Avenue, on the left when traveling north on Neil Avenue.
