Osmond's Sandwich Shop (tour stop 5)
After the movie let out downtown at 9:30, Henry Moore drove his date Gretchen Gregory west to get a late-night snack of coffee and sandwiches at Osmond’s. The sandwich shop was located in a gas fillin’ station near Barrancas Avenue and a little bayou, named appropriately Bayou Chico. We assume the pair took the coffee and sandwiches to go.
As Henry steered his roadster out to the new Scenic Highway, he didn’t realize he was driving to his own death. Was it his idea or Gretchen’s to go to Magnolia Bluff that fateful evening? We'll pick up the story on the bluff.
