Paulsdale
The birthplace and family home of Alice Stokes Paul (1885-1977), 20th century international women's rights leader. As founder of the National Women's Party, Dr. Paul played a central role in the final struggle for women's suffrage, and authored the Equal Rights Amendment in 1923 for which she campaigned until her death.
The Paul family lived on this 176-acre farm from 1883-1958. Paulsdale is listed on the New Jersey and National Registers of Historic Places and was named a National Historic Landmark in 1991. The Alice Paul Centennial Foundation owns the 6.5 acre property.
Marker is on Hooten Avenue 0.2 miles from Moorestown-Mount Laurel Road, on the left when traveling west.
