Pirogue Landing
Terminal point where French-Canadian boats, hollowed from 30-60 foot poplar logs, brought families and cargo up the Maumee River from Toledo and Detroit, and returned furs to Lake Erie in exchange for traders' supplies, from the late 1700's until the canal era of the 1840's
Marker is at the intersection of Superior Street and Spy Run Avenue / Purple Heart Memorial Hwy (U.S. 27), on the left when traveling east on Superior Street.
