Road to Monmouth Battlefield

June 20-22, 1778

In 1778, the Borough of New Hope was the colonial river crossing known as Coryell's Ferry. During the Revolution, the Grand Continental Army under the command of General George Washington crossed the Delaware River into NJ enroute to the battle at Monmouth, NJ.

Marker is at the intersection of Main Street and Ferry Street, on the right when traveling north on Main Street.
