Part of an original grant of 10,000 acres known as Conococheague Manor, the mansion house was built early in the 1800's and tradition attributes its design to Benjamin H. Latrobe. It is noted for its Adam woodwork and for its great hall with a hanging staircase.

Marker is on MD 63 Spielman Road 0.4 miles south of Danmar Drive, on the right when traveling south.
