Seacrest Wolf Preserve

Founded in 1999, the Seacrest Wolf Preserve is a non-profit organization located on 400 acres within Washington County, FL and serves the community through its efforts in preserving the wolf for future generations. Empowered by their creed the preserve aims to increase "preservation through education" by teaching guests about wildlife through personal contact and interaction with wolves and other animals. Owners Cynthia and Wayne Watkins are actively involved with their guests in their effort to "create awareness of the importance of wolves to our ecosystem and to dispel the myths... associated with these very important carnivores for too long." Showing the endless humanitarian spirit of preservation the Watkins have dedicated their lives to providing a "voice that speaks for those who cannot speak for themselves."

Florida, a popular travel destination for families, was once one of the most talked about locations for game hunting and fishing; the fact that there is a facility dedicated to preserving, rather than hunting wildlife shows how the state and its interests have evolved over the last century. Through the efforts of the Watkins and their staff, guests experience something out of the ordinary that proves to be both educational and entertaining, proving that nature still has an impact on the human imagination and when harnessed properly can be used as a powerful learning tool.
