White Oak Swamp
On a hill just to the west Stonewall Jackson placed his artillery about midday on June 30, 1862. An artillery duel then began with Franklin, guarding the south side of White Oak Swamp, that lasted until dark.
Marker is on Elko Road (County Route 156), on the right.
