Silver River Museum and Environmental Education Center

This hands-on museum is located within the Silver River State Park and is operated by the Marion County School District in cooperation with the park. It focuses on the environmental and human history of Florida.

Displays of artifacts, including tools and weapons constructed from native materials made by Florida's first people over 12,000 years ago are found within the museum.

The American Civil War in Marion County exhibit case features period objects, including a small iron cannon and a number of artillery projectiles, along with soldiers' equipment.

The state park has a pioneer cracker village and offers canoe trips on the clear waters of the Silver River.
