South Florida Science Center and Aquarium

The South Florida Science Center was founded 52 years ago when the County’s population stood at 240,000. Today, our 60-mile service region – including Palm Beach, north Broward and Martin counties – totals almost 2 million people. In the last four years, we’ve changed our name to South Florida Science Center and Aquarium, doubled attendance, doubled operating revenues, doubled our program offerings and doubled the size of our physical space. Last year, In recognition of the progress we’ve made, we were named “Best Non-Profit in Palm Beach County (Arts and Culture)” by the Chamber of Commerce, “Best Museum in Palm Beach County” by South Florida Parenting Magazine, and one of three finalists for the Providencia Award for contributions to tourism in the region.
