St. Augustine Alligator Farm

What’s more Floridian than an alligator? The St. Augustine Alligator Farm has been a local institution since 1893. Originally created to showcase reptiles and ostriches to Gilded Age tourists, the Alligator Farm has grown into an accredited zoo the entire family can enjoy. Exhibits feature alligators, crocodiles, birds of prey, Komodo dragons, and even lemurs. If you are feeling adventurous, the Alligator Farm has a zip line course (just don’t dangle your feet while zipping over the gator habitat).

Since opening in 1893, the Alligator Farm has been providing families a look at exotic Florida--a key to the state’s development as a tourist hot spot. Visit and you'll see why this attraction has stood the test of time. Whether you want to hang with the lemurs, marvel at the crocodiles, feed the alligators, explore the temple that houses the Komodo dragon, see the worlds largest alligator, or simply enjoy a day out in the fresh air listening to the birds chirp, there is something for everyone at the St. Augustine Alligator Farm. Come out and go a little wild! (Carson Sailor, Flagler College)
