State Archives-Library of Florida/R.A. Gray Building
The Florida Collection in the State Library contains one of the most comprehensive holdings of Floridiana in the state. Books, manuscripts, maps, memorabilia, newspaper articles, and periodicals are among the 60,000 items in the collection.
The State Archives of Florida is the central repository for state government documents. It is mandated by state law to collect, preserve, and make available for research the historically significant records of the state, as well as private manuscripts, local government records, photographs, and other materials that
compliment the official state records.
Found in this collection are Confederate Pension Application Files, the Ordinance of Secession, correspondence, family papers and other valuable resources related to the Civil War in Florida.
An online Guide to Civil War Records at the State Archives of Florida identifies and describes the many state, federal, and private Civil War records housed at the State Archives of Florida.
The State Library's Florida Photographic Collection contains many images related to this period of Florida history, and are available to view through their website.
