Dedicated in sacred memory to those valiant Confederates who remained steadfast to the end, and who gave their last full measure of devotion in defense of their homeland. Here the Confederates, under the Generals Wilcox and Heth, made a gallant stand, only to be overcome by overwhelming numbers.

Dedicated April 12, 1981

Marker is at the intersection of Namozine Road (Virginia Route 708) and Cox Road (U.S. 460) when traveling north on Namozine Road.
