They, too, wanted only to live by the side of this Park and be a friend to man. Instead, off to war they went, by their sense of duty sent, in response to pleas, of peoples, forced to their knees. Some gave all they had others did what they could. But, together, on that line they stood. WWW

Dedication Plaque

Dedicated Sept. 26, 2000 to honor World War II Veterans from the Szot Park neighborhood called Bemisuwka, a predominantly Polish area, all part of the former Bemis Family Estate.

Lower Plaque

Inscribed with the names of area World War II Veterans including three who were Killed in Action

Marker is on Pvt Szot Drive south of Front Street, on the right when traveling south.
