The Plain Good Building of Cross Plains
Construction on this site began in 1854. Time had reduced this building nearly to ruin during 143 years of service to this community. With great skill and uncompromising attention to detail, it was completely restored during the winter of 1997-1998 by Maurice Mitchell Bertram, master craftsman.
Marker is at the intersection of Main Street (U.S. 14) and American Legion Drive, on the left when traveling east on Main Street.
