Thomas Benjamin Hart House
Thomas B. Hart, with his brother, Charles, operated the saw and grist mills in the settlement of Hart’s Mills, now known as Wauwatosa. From 1874 to 1885 this was his residence. It is the oldest house on the city’s earliest residential street. The Gothic Revival Architecture of the house and barn is noteworthy for its 9 pairs of ornate barge boards in 6 patterns. The Hart family owned the property until 1910.
Marker is on Church Street south of Milwaukee Avenue, on the right when traveling south.
