Totopotomoy Line

Confederate Works

Fortifications on this hill mark the strong confederate works along Totopotomoy Creek, prepared as a defensive position in General Lee’s withdrawal from the Rapidan to the James. Engagements here May 29-30, 1864, were preliminary to the Second Battle of Cold Harbor.

Marker is on Studley Road 0.7 miles west of Shelton Pointe Drive, on the right when traveling west.
