This brigade was sent to re-enforce Sherman at the tunnel the forenoon of the 25th. Was returned to the center about 2 p.m., the brigade being the center of the division, with Turchin's brigade on its right, and Phelps's brigade on its left. The 2nd Minnesota covered the front as skirmishers and captured the enemy's rifle-pits. The brigade moved in two lines. Its center reached the crest at this point, formed across the ridge, marched northward, and reports the capture of six guns

Strength in action 1,679. Casualties: killed 20; wounded 141; missing 2.
