On Monday, April 7, 1862, these regiments were in reserve behind the 1st brigade until noon. They were then moved via Ross' headquarters, Duncan House, to McCook's left. About 2 p.m. they crossed the Review Field and were engaged here at the close of the battle.
Marker is on Hamburg-Purdy Road 0.4 miles east of Sherman Road, on the right when traveling east.
