This Village Park is the site of the original settlement of Geneseo. When the pioneer settlers, James and William Wadsworth, came from Connecticut in 1790, the village which they founded was laid out with this plot as a typical New England "Village Square". bordered by homes, business places, etc.

Marker is on Main Street (New York Route 39) 0.2 miles north of South Street (U.S. 20A), on the right when traveling south.
