William Van Duyn House

This elaborate Italianate home, rare in Coburg, was built for $1500 in 1877 for William Van Duyn, son of Isaac Van Duyn, one of Coburg’s original pioneers in 1852. William operated the Coburg Mercantile store until 1906. The Adair family lived in the home from 1927 until it was purchased and remodeled into a restaurant in the 1960s. The fir trees facing Willamette Street are the oldest firs in the downtown area, and along with the broad leaf Centennial maples, were planted in 1876.
