The Ximenez-Fatio House, a National Historic Landmark, is located on Aviles Street, America's first platted thoroughfare in the center of the city's oldest community, the Old Town area south of the Plaza. The museum complex includes a coquina stone house, detached kitchen building, and reconstructed wash house, all built around 1800. The visitor center has state-of-the-art interactive exhibits.
